On Tuesday, August 6 , the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved a list of canals of national importance that provide water transfer to low-water regions. This was stated by the Ministry of Environment, UNN reports.

It is noted that the project is being implemented within the framework of the implementation of the Law of Ukraine "On Organizations of Water Users and Stimulation of Hydrotechnical Land Reclamation".
Approval of this list will provide investment and additional funding to state-owned water management facilities for their operation, scheduled maintenance, design and construction of water management systems and integrated facilities
The agency adds that the second part of the Government's decision concerns amendments to the list of water management organizations in Zakarpattia Oblast, according to which five inter-district water management departments in the region remain under the management of the State Agency of Ukraine for Water Resources.
This solution provides protection of the region from the harmful effects of water, including bank protection and flood control measures, which is the realization of the state's function to protect the population and territories
