On Monday, August 5, Ukraine and Japan signed a memorandum of cooperation in the field of law and Justice. This was stated in the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, reports UNN.
Details
The memorandum was signed by the minister of Justice of Ukraine Denys Malyuska and the minister of Justice of Japan Ryuji Koizumi.
The document provides for the development of mutual friendship and cooperation between participants through the exchange of experience and information in the field of law and Justice.
The scope of cooperation between the agencies will cover the following areas::
- anti-corruption efforts in Ukraine;
- judicial reform in Ukraine, including issues related to the penitentiary system;
- strengthening institutional capacity in the legal and administrative spheres, including Human Resources Development.

During the meeting, Denys Malyuska thanked his international colleagues for their full support of Ukraine and expressed hope for fruitful cooperation between the institutions. According to him, this memorandum indicates Japan's support for Ukraine in the justice sector.
In turn, the Japanese official stressed that Japan will continue to support Ukraine's efforts in the legal and judicial spheres
As a result of the meeting, both sides also agreed to maintain a constant dialogue and work together to study possible areas of cooperation in the future.

Representatives of the Ministry of energy of Ukraine held talks with a delegation of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). The parties discussed Japan's assistance in the Energy Sector and plans for long-term cooperation, in particular in the development of renewable energy sources and infrastructure restoration.
