Fuel shortages have been recorded in Russia's Murmansk and Tver regions due to attacks on oil infrastructure. In some cities, gas stations have been out of operation for weeks.

In Russia's Murmansk and Tver regions, fuel supply problems are being recorded, which, according to media reports, may be linked to Ukrainian drone attacks on Russian oil infrastructure. This was reported by Yle with reference to the BBC Russian Service, according to UNN.

Details

According to Russian media, in the military settlement of Alakurtti in the Murmansk region, the only gas station ceased operations for several days due to a fuel shortage. Local residents are expressing concern, as the nearest opportunity to refuel is located in Kandalaksha, approximately 120 kilometers from the settlement.

An entrepreneur who owns several gas stations in the region told the publication "Khibiny" that he has had no gasoline for sale for over a week. The most significant shortage is observed in the popular AI-92 and AI-95 gasoline grades.

Possible causes of the shortage

Russian media cite various versions of the reasons for the fuel shortage. Some local residents link the situation to the transfer of gas stations from the state company Rosneft to private operators. At the same time, the BBC notes that the supply disruptions coincided with Ukrainian drone strikes on Russian oil facilities.

Alakurtti is one of Russia's garrison towns and is located approximately 50 kilometers from the border with Finland near Salla. According to local media, suppliers have promised to send additional volumes of gasoline to the settlement to partially cover the deficit.
