Three Palestinian babies have fallen victim to the winter cold in Gaza. One of the babies, Mahmoud Al-Fasih, died of cold in the tent city of Al-Mawassi in southern Gaza. This was reported by CNN, UNN.

Dr. Munir Al-Bursh, Director General of the Gaza Ministry of Health, said that Al-Fasih died of cold, and two other babies, a three-day old and a one-month-old, died of cold temperatures and lack of warm shelter.
Al-Mawassi, a coastal neighborhood in the west of Rafah, has become a place of refuge for thousands of displaced Palestinians living in conditions of extreme instability and extremely limited resources.
The village, which was previously designated by Israel as a “humanitarian zone,” has been repeatedly attacked by Israeli forces. In the absence of the necessary living conditions, people are forced to live in makeshift tents, often without sufficient heat or clothing. Relatives of the dead babies reported that they did not have enough warm clothes to save their children from the cold.
This tragedy is just one of many that are taking place in Gaza, where, according to human rights activists, Palestinian children are the main victims of the war. Since the beginning of the conflict, more than 17,600 children have been killed, and about 17,000 have been left unprotected or separated from their families.
In addition, the medical system in Gaza has been devastated by Israeli attacks, and only 20% of neonatal care units are currently operational. Children do not receive the necessary medical care, and premature babies often die due to the lack of medicines and ventilators.
UNICEF warns that more than a million children in Gaza are experiencing ongoing suffering and their future is at risk due to the destruction of their rights and normal living conditions.

Negotiations between Israel and Hamas on a ceasefire are 90% complete. The main obstacle remains the issue of Israel's military presence in the Philadelphia Corridor.
