Washington wants to know from Ukraine what Kyiv's strategy is regarding the situation in the Kursk region of Russia. This was stated during a briefing by White House National Security Communications Advisor John Kirby, Voice of America reports, according to UNN.
Details
According to Kirby, the United States continues to communicate with the Ukrainian authorities to understand the goals of the Ukrainian Armed Forces operation in the Kursk region of Russia.
I think I will leave some space here to allow Ukraine to speak about its military operations in one way or another. We keep in touch with our Ukrainian colleagues and work to better understand what they are doing, what their goals are, what their strategy is
He also refused to elaborate on the situation on the battlefield. The U.S. official noted that the United States does not want to release too much information at this time.
However, he once again emphasized that the White House is in touch with Kyiv on the situation in the Kursk region.
We are in contact with our Ukrainian colleagues, and I would refrain from describing what is happening on the battlefield until those conversations are completed and we feel that we have a better idea of what they are doing
Addendum
At the same time, the White House spokesman added that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are not currently violating the restrictions previously announced by the United States on attacks deep into Russia.
They are using it (US weapons - ed.) in an area where we said earlier that they could use US weapons for cross-border strikes. The ultimate goal here is to help Ukraine defend itself, and we'll just see what Ukraine has to say about that

U.S. State Department spokesman Matthew Miller says that Putin's words that "Ukraine created a large-scale provocation" in the Kursk regionare an exaggeration.
