The Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal has announced the start of work to restore the Okhmatdyt children's hospital, which was damaged by shelling. The government has already allocated 100 million hryvnias from the reserve fund for priority reconstruction work and plans to increase funding as soon as the reconstruction project is ready, UNN reports.

The state will completely rebuild Okhmatdyt. We are starting work right now. Immediately after the tragedy, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Economy, and the Ministry of Finance were instructed to work on allocating funds for the reconstruction and assistance to the victims

 ," says Shmyhal.

According to him, today the Government is allocating UAH 100 million from the state budget reserve fund for priority reconstruction work at Okhmatdyt, and the funding is planned to be increased as the reconstruction project is prepared.

Each family with children affected by yesterday's attack will receive assistance from UNICEF in the amount of UAH 10,800 per family member

 ," the Prime Minister added.

He said that the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy instructed to find a new place to transport doctors and young patients from the shelling-affected buildings as soon as possible. It has already been determined that these will be Kyiv Regional Clinical Hospitals #1 and #2, where the transfer will begin.

The Russian attack on the Okhmatdyt hospital in Kyiv killed 2 people, injured more than 50, and caused significant damage to buildings, including the toxicology department, surgical department, intensive care unit, operating rooms, and Ukraine's only oncohematology laboratory.
