Negotiations between Switzerland and the EU have entered a decisive round and are “in the home stretch”. This was stated by Swiss President Viola Amgerd.

The agreement will bring Switzerland one step closer to restoring relations after it unexpectedly withdrew from the 2021 talks, undermining ties with the bloc that surrounded it and exposing cross-border business to legal uncertainty.
The talks are going “well,” Amgerd also told reporters at a meeting of European leaders in Budapest.
On the eve of Wednesday, the country's Federal Council determined what it still wants to achieve in the final stage of negotiations - and where it is ready to make concessions if necessary, writes TicinOnline SA.

As part of the preparations, President of the Swiss Confederation Viola Amherd will hold bilateral talks with her European Commission counterpart Ursula von der Leyen at the European Political Community (EPC) summit in Budapest. She is also scheduled to meet with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte and the heads of government of Kosovo, Albania and Cyprus.
