Demchenkov made his statement after a meeting with delegation of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, headed by the Minister of Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation Jeffrey van Leeuwen. The meeting took place in Ukraine at one of the energy facilities that was damaged during during the Russian attacks.
After getting acquainted with the work of Ukrainian energy specialists, Jeffrey van Leeuwen Ukrainian power engineers expressed his admiration for their work and resilience. He also congratulated Ukraine on the decision of the European Council to start negotiations on Ukraine's accession to the EU, emphasizing the prospects for full integration of the Ukrainian and European energy markets.
The Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine also briefed the the guest with the state of natural gas production in Ukraine. Demchenkov outlined the prospects for attracting Dutch traders to store natural gas in Ukrainian underground gas storage facilities.
