April 2024 will bring many interesting premieres. From Anton Ptushkin's touching film We, Our Pets and the War to a strange tragicomedy about the life of Bigfoot, everyone will find something to their taste. UNN has collected information about the most interesting premieres for you.

"We, our pets and the war" (April 4)

"We, Our Pets and the War is the first feature film by blogger and TV presenter Anton Ptushkin. It is a documentary starring, among others, Patron the dog and Shafa the cat, as well as many other animals - from cats and dogs to lions, chameleons and lemurs. It is an attempt to show the events in Ukraine from a different angle: through the relationships between people and animals who witnessed and sometimes became victims of the war. The work on the film lasted over a year and a half.

"Me and Felix" (April 11)

The feature film debut of director and writer Iryna Tsilyk. This drama takes us back to the 1990s: in a provincial town in post-Soviet Ukraine, Olga (Anastasia Karpenko) is raising her son Tymofiy. When his grandmother meets a new life partner, Felix (Yuri Izdryk), the boy, who grows up without a father, quickly finds a common language with him. Felix shares his worldly wisdom with the boy and always protects him in everything.

The film is based on the biographical book Who Are You? by Artem Chekh. It is a drama about growing up and finding yourself in difficult times.

"Uprising of the States" (April 11)

An epic action movie from director Alex Garland (Annihilation, ExMachina).

The events of "Rebellion of the States" take place in the near future in the United States. After a political crisis, the government has turned into a dystopian dictatorship, and 19 states declare their independence. The American government decides to suppress the uprising by military means. At the same time, the troops of the states that have risen up against the government march on Washington and want to capture the city by July 4, Independence Day.

Starring: Kirsten Dunst, KaleySpani and Jesse Plemons.

"Love, Lies and Bloodshed" (April 18)

The story, imbued with sexuality and violence, was created by British director Rose Glass.

1989, rural Nevada. The story centers on Lou (Kristen Stewart), a reclusive and rude gym manager who smokes a lot and doesn't like people very much. One day, a former bodybuilder and now a tramp, Jackie (Cathy O'Brien), who is on her way to Las Vegas in pursuit of her dream, walks into her gym. Lou falls desperately in love with Jackie, gives her gifts and introduces her to his sister, and Jackie cooks Lou breakfast. But this attraction draws the girls into dangerous criminal adventures.

"Rivals" (April 25)

Erotic sports drama - Luca Guadagnino's new film tells the story of Tasha Duncan (Zendaya), once an incredibly talented tennis player. Now she is an influential coach. Tasha's husband, also a tennis player, Art (Mike Feist), is going through a series of losses, but she figures out how to overcome the setbacks. But on her way, Tasha faces an unexpected obstacle: her husband's next opponent, Patrick (Josh O'Connor), is Tasha's former lover and her husband's former best friend. Tasha is faced with a difficult choice.

"Stuntman" (April 25)

Director David Litch, who gave us the bright films John Wick and Deadpool, presents a new comedy action movie. "Stuntman". The film tells the story of Colt, a professional stuntman who moonlights as a bounty hunter in his spare time. The role of Colt is played by the unsurpassed Ryan Gosling, and his former lover and director, who is filming an action movie with Colt, is embodied by Emily Blunt.

Ministry of Ungentlemanly War (world premiere on April 19)

James Bond creator Ian Fleming will appear in Guy Ritchie's new film Ministry of Ungentlemanly War.

Fleming (Freddie Fox) is an intelligence officer who helps Winston Churchill create a special forces unit during World War II.

The film is based on the book by British documentary filmmaker, historian and writer Damien Lewis, Churchill's Secret Warriors: The True Story of the Desperate Special Forces of World War II.

The plot centers on a special unit of fighters who were thrown into the rear of Nazi Germany to organize sabotage.

The spy action movie stars Henry Cavill, Alan Ritchson and Ace Gonzalez.

"Bigfoot's Sunset"

A tragicomedy by the Zellner brothers starring Jesse Eisenberg and Riley Keough. The film tells the story of a bigfoot family on the verge of extinction.

They wander through the forests in search of food, quarrel, make love, enjoy nature, and it seems that nothing will ever disturb their simple life.

But soon these giants will face many challenges that will threaten the existence of their species.

"Mankimen"

The movie is set in modern India. The protagonist is an orphan nicknamed "Mankiman" (Dev Patel) who is determined to avenge the death of his family.

He leads a double life, simultaneously working in a prestigious nightclub for the rich and participating in brutal underground fights where masked fighters fight for big money until their last breath.

As he plunges into the underworld of Mumbai, he settles scores with criminal masterminds and corrupt politicians.

The film was directed, produced and co-written by Jordan Peele.
