The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine summoned the Chargé d'Affaires of China in Kyiv due to the capture of two citizens of this country who fought in the Russian army. This was announced by the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Sybiha in X, writes UNN.

We strongly condemn Russia's involvement of Chinese citizens in its aggressive war against Ukraine, as well as their participation in hostilities against Ukrainian forces. We summoned the Chargé d'Affaires of China in Ukraine to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to condemn this fact and demand explanations.

He pointed out that the participation of Chinese citizens in the Russian army casts doubt on the declared position of the Chinese side regarding peace.

"The participation of Chinese citizens in the Russian invasion army in Ukraine casts doubt on China's declared position on peace and undermines confidence in Beijing as a responsible permanent member of the UN Security Council," said Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha.

Ukrainian soldiers captured two Chinese citizens in Donetsk region who fought in the Russian army. Intelligence, the SBU, and relevant units of the Armed Forces are currently working with them.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy commented on the capture of two Chinese citizens in Donbas by the Defense Forces. According to him, they participated in the fighting on the side of Russia, which is an important signal for the United States.
