The organization of National Resistance is one of the key topics in the context of Ukraine's struggle against Russian aggression. Military expert Dmitry Snegirev in an exclusive comment UNN noted that the preparation of the civilian population for basic military skills is an urgent need for the state.
"It is worth saying that it is necessary to use the so-called Israeli experience in organizing and, accordingly, training the civilian population. Given the total nature of the war with the Russian Federation, the civilian population should be ready to master the basic capabilities for providing medical care and organizing the resistance movement if the territories are temporarily occupied," Snegirev said.
According to him, national resistance is not only about preparing for armed defense, but also about mobilizing broad segments of the population to fight the enemy in the event of occupation of territories. Such training should have started in 2014, but these issues were ignored at the state level for a long time.
"This should have been done in accordance with 2014, but unfortunately time is lost and this, unfortunately, was not actually done. Only not at the state level, but at the level of let's say amateur – individual volunteer movements, or, accordingly, not state institutions. In other words, it should be a state priority. Even at the end of the war, the Ukrainian state should clearly understand that part of the territory will remain under occupation and, accordingly, it is necessary to create prerequisites for their return, including by military means. And to do this, it is necessary that the population passes the BZVP," Snegirev added.
Military expert Dmitry Snegirev also focused on the need to return primary military training to schools. "It is necessary, by the way, to return what was known during the Soviet Union in schools – these are the lessons of initial military training, this gave its positive signs at the moment of preparation of conscripts for military service," the expert believes.
The Center of National Interest in Brovary
One example of the implementation of the approach to National Resistance was the National Resistance Center, opened in Brovary. The initiative aims to teach the local population basic military skills that may be needed in both wartime and peacetime.
According to the Mayor Igor Sapozhko, this center will provide an opportunity for every resident of the community to pass basic training. Training programs include classes in tactical medicine, the basics of military topography, working with UAVs, and even the basics of surviving under occupation.
Instructors at the Center were veterans with combat experience, in particular from the 3rd Assault Brigade and the Azov Brigade. Training is free and available to everyone in several ways – from a shortened one – day course to a seven-week course.
"This is a great opportunity for our community not only to be prepared for various challenges, but also to strengthen the moral and psychological state of society. We must understand that the training of the population directly affects our ability to protect ourselves," Sapozhko said.
National Resistance centers, such as those operating in Brovary, can become a powerful tool for organizing a broad civil movement. They will not only strengthen the protection of communities, but also contribute to the return of the occupied territories, forming a new generation ready for the challenges of Modern Warfare.
