Details
On the initiative of Minister Dmytro Kuleba, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is implementing a large-scale digitalization policy, including consular services. We understand that since 2022, the number of Ukrainian citizens abroad has increased significantly. (...) The idea of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is to transfer some services to a remote format through digitalization, through simplifying access, to reduce the burden on consuls, and on the other hand, to give citizens unhindered access to these services. The MFA is currently working on the modernization of the information and communication system of consular services, and in the near future it is planned to start its closed testing
He added that the ministry expects that the implementation of this project will improve the accessibility and quality of the MFA's services.
Consular services will be automated as much as possible, which will significantly reduce the workload of employees and increase their efficiency. The launch of this updated system will initially reduce the operational time for the provision of consular services by 30-80%, depending on the type of service. Some consular services will be provided remotely or partially remotely. We are also working with the Ministry of Digital Transformation to integrate the usual document sharing from Diia into the new system
