Amsterdam police in the Netherlands have identified the man suspected of stabbing five people - it is reported that he is a 30-year-old Ukrainian from the Donetsk region, the motives for the crime are still unknown, according to the Dutch publication NOS, writes UNN.

"Amsterdam police have identified the man who allegedly stabbed five people near Dam Square on Thursday. He is a 30-year-old Ukrainian from the Donetsk region. It is unclear whether he came from the occupied part of the Donetsk region," NOS reports.
On Tuesday, the man is scheduled to appear before an investigating judge. This will determine whether he will remain in custody longer. Police cannot yet say anything about the motives for the crime.
A serious crimes officer and a counter-terrorism officer are involved in the investigation. "There is reason to immediately investigate all scenarios," Chief Prosecutor De Böckeler told the city broadcaster AT5 yesterday.
"It was difficult for the police to identify the suspect, as he was found with identity documents in several names at the time of his arrest. He was also injured and was treated at the Scheveningen penitentiary hospital," NOS writes.

On Thursday evening, a man attacked several people with a knife, the reason for the attack is unknown. Yesterday, four victims were still in the hospital. Two of them were seriously injured.
