On March 31, 2022, the Armed Forces of Ukraine liberated the city of Bucha from the Russians. As a result of the brutal terror of the invaders in the city, hundreds of people died during the month of occupation, UNN writes with reference to the Bucha City Council.

"Third anniversary of the liberation of Bucha. This day is not from the calendar for us. This is the pain that lives inside, and the gratitude that cannot be expressed to the end in words," the city council said in a statement.

The mayor of Bucha, Anatoliy Fedoruk, noted that today the city is growing and developing, but the wound from the crimes committed by the Russians has not disappeared.

"Today Bucha has a voice again. We are building, growing, holding on to each other. But the wound is still fresh. And the war, unfortunately, is not in the past," the statement reads.

Fedoruk also thanked the Ukrainian soldiers who liberated Bucha from the Russian invaders.

"We thank every soldier who made this day possible at all. We thank the Armed Forces of Ukraine for our Bucha, for the community, for the Kyiv region, for the chance to live," the city council noted in its address.

We remind

After the start of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, the invaders temporarily occupied the city of Bucha in the Kyiv region. The occupiers carried out a brutal massacre of civilian residents of the city. Hundreds of people were killed: men, women, children, and the elderly. On March 31 of the same year, the Armed Forces of Ukraine liberated Bucha from the enemy and forced him to leave the territory of the Kyiv region.

Investigators of the National Police of Ukraine continue to search for the perpetrators of these bloody crimes. As of today, dozens of facts of killings of civilians have been revealed. Suspicion has been reported to 34 Russian servicemen, 23 of them for the fact of committing murders, and 11 for the fact of committing cruel treatment of the civilian population in the Kyiv region.

Addition

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Russia has committed 829 crimes against journalists and the media in Ukraine, in particular, since the beginning of the war, Russia has killed 102 media workers.
