Sweden, as a new NATO member, currently has no plans to deploy the alliance's nuclear weapons on its territory. This was stated by Prime Minister Ulf Kristerson during a joint press conference with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg.

The Swedish prime minister emphasized that his country, which recently joined the Alliance, accepts all its capabilities and understands the need for the entire NATO defense capability, including the nuclear strategy.

NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg agreed with this position and assured that the Alliance forces have no plans to increase the number of countries possessing nuclear weapons.

As the Prime Minister said, this is Sweden's decision. There are no plans to increase the number of NATO member states with nuclear weapons
