Law enforcement officers in Romania, at the request of the Pechersk District Prosecutor's Office in Kyiv, have extradited a man to Ukraine who is suspected of extorting $1 million from a victim with threats of violence against him and his family members. This was reported by the Kyiv City Prosecutor's Office, according to UNN.

According to the investigation, the suspect, along with two accomplices, demanded a non-existent debt of $1 million or the equivalent of 15 Bitcoin from a foreign citizen.
One of the scheme's participants was detained in January 2022 during the transfer of part of the funds. The other two were declared wanted.
Since October 2022, the man had been on an international wanted list. At that time, the Pechersk District Court of Kyiv заочно (in absentia) chose a preventive measure for him in the form of detention.
In November 2025, the suspect was detained in Romania, and in April 2026, he was extradited to Ukraine.
The prosecutor's office also noted that the individual was mentioned in Mykhailo Tkach's journalistic investigation "Battalion Monaco" as one of the Ukrainians who were on vacation in Courchevel during the full-scale war.
