The student parliament of the Institute of Journalism of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv refused to cooperate with the administration until they dismiss Professor Mykyta Vasylenko. The reason is his scandalous statements. This is stated in the report of the Educational and Research Institute of Journalism of the Kyiv National University, UNN reports.
In connection with the systematic speeches of Mykyta Kimovych Vasylenko, a lecturer at the Institute of Journalism of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, on pro-Russian platforms, sexist statements and promotion of Russian narratives, the Student Parliament of the Institute of Journalism announces a boycott of the Institute's administration,
It is noted that from December 23, 2024, until Vasylenko's dismissal from the university, the student parliament will be in charge:
- He refuses to cooperate with the administration of the Educational and Research Institute of Journalism.
- Demands an immediate response to our statement and protection of the academic community from the influence of those who discredit the journalistic profession and the national interests of Ukraine.
We emphasize that these are the minimum measures we are forced to take. If the administration continues to ignore the opinion of students, we will be forced to take more severe action. We call on the university administration not to delay the resolution of this issue and to ensure that state values, academic standards and students' rights are respected,
Context
In an interview with Oleksandr Shelest, Vasylenko suggested that at least 40,000 "men with money, hungry for women" could arrive in Ukraine as part of a peacekeeping mission.
In addition, in his opinion, foreign peacekeepers who "have not been tested at the front, but have been brought up on good European food" will be of interest to "thousands of hungry Ukrainian women" who "did not have time to leave, or whose husbands were killed or injured.
