Former President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili, who is in custody, stated that he is using artificial intelligence to overcome the limitations associated with imprisonment. According to him, a digital avatar is being created for him that will be able to represent him publicly, reports UNN citing "News Georgia".
Details
Saakashvili spoke about this on July 29 during a court hearing, stating that his "artificial intelligence" is already preparing for launch.
"An avatar of my artificial intelligence is already being prepared. It looks better than me, but it is me: it speaks like Misha, gestures like Misha. So keep me as long as you want. Friends, I will leave this prison like Nelson Mandela left his, and immediately come to power... You will do this – you will bring the 'Rose Revolution 2.0'," Saakashvili stated.
Today, the politician published a fragment of the speech on Facebook and again described his plan: "With the help of Ivanishvili, I will come to power directly from prison, and until then, artificial intelligence will perform my work."

Saakashvili left Georgia in 2013 after the end of his presidential term. After the Georgian Dream party came to power, several criminal cases were opened against him. During this period, he was in Ukraine, where he served as the governor of the Odesa region, and later headed the National Reform Council under the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
In October 2021, Saakashvili secretly returned to Georgia and was detained. In several criminal cases, courts have already issued guilty verdicts, and a number of other cases are pending.
In 2025, the prosecutor's office brought new charges against him of "calls for violent change of power." The basis was the politician's publications on social networks and his remote speeches at court hearings.
Currently, Saakashvili is serving his sentence in a prison in Rustavi. According to the current system of absorbing sentences, he will be able to be released no earlier than 2030.
