Since the beginning of the war, 23 historic buildings in Kyiv have been destroyed or damaged, including only 2 by Russian missiles. The TIC proposes to update urban planning documentation and strengthen the protection of historical sites.

Since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Kyiv, 23 historic buildings have been destroyed or damaged. Only 2 of them were destroyed by Russian missiles. This was reported by Vitaliy Bezgin, MP, chairman of the provisional investigatory commission on the effectiveness of the work of public authorities in Kyiv, UNN reports .

PIC on the destruction of the Zelensky estate. Brief summary. The Ministry of Culture, the Prosecutor's Office, and the National Police came. Klitschko did not come, but there were deputies. The positions of the parties were predictably opposite,” Bezgin wrote on Facebook.Bezgin generally called the discussion constructive. ”Shocking moments. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion in Kyiv, 23 historic buildings have been destroyed or damaged. Only 2 of them were destroyed by Russian missiles. The advisory board of the KCSA's cultural heritage department, which did not make a decision to protect Zelensky's estate, based on the documents shown by members of the public, includes an architect who developed a project for the developer who demolished the estate. We are checking

- Bezgin said.

He also voiced the proposals of the TSC:

Kyiv local authorities:

  • Update urban planning documentation as soon as possible, including the city's historical and architectural reference plan.
  • To make a decision as soon as possible to postpone the sale/lease of valuable historical buildings until the urban planning documentation is updated. This is a political decision. We will demand.
  • Implement a temporary procedure for the protection of historically valuable buildings as soon as possible, which will be in effect until the urban planning documentation is updated.
  •     Reboot the advisory board of the KCSA department and change its regulations to prevent conflicts of interest.

To the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine:-

To amend the Law of Ukraine “On Protection of Cultural Heritage” in terms of defining valuable historical buildings

To amend the urban planning legislation in terms of the powers of local self-government bodies.

I definitely support the position of the public that the head of the Department of Cultural Heritage should resign! As well as the head of KCSA, if he does not want to be responsible for the state of affairs in the capital!

- Bezgin emphasized.

AddendumAddendum
