The State Bureau of Investigation has handed over to the Asset Recovery and Management Agency (ARMA) another batch of property of relatives of former MPs Viktor Medvedchuk and Taras Kozak, suspected of treason, worth almost UAH 400 million, the SBI reported on Tuesday, UNN reports.

At the request of the SBI, the court seized and transferred to the National Asset Recovery Agency (ARMA) several more companies of the closest relatives of former MPs Viktor Medvedchuk and Taras Kozak, suspected of treason, worth almost UAH 400 million

- the SBI reported.

According to the SBI, "the property and corporate rights of Betonbud and Capital Plaza, construction companies registered in Lviv, and 50% of the corporate rights of Halytske Perekhrestia LLC, whose ultimate owners are Medvedchuk and Kozak's brothers, will be transferred to the state.

"The property and corporate rights of the transport company Transmonolitavto, which is wholly owned by Kozak's brother, were also transferred," the bureau said.

According to the SBI, "production facilities, a laboratory building and warehouses with a total area of more than 10.2 thousand square meters, a land plot of more than 7 hectares, 74 cars, 2 forklifts, 4 excavators, a bulldozer and a motor grader, non-residential premises in Kyiv with an area of 167 square meters" were seized and will be transferred to the state.

Earlier, at the request of the State Bureau of Investigation, a brick production plant in Lviv region worth more than USD 5 million was reportedly taken over by the state. "The company has been evading taxes for years, directing its profits to finance Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine. In June, the SBI, in cooperation with the SBU, notified of suspicions to the persons involved in the investigation," the bureau said.

It is also stated that property was seized and transferred to the state, "which the defendants managed to transfer to their close associates".

In addition, as noted, "at the request of the State Bureau of Investigation, land plots that Medvedchuk and Kozak's firms received free of charge from one of the territorial communities of Lviv region were arrested." "The land, which according to the documents is for agricultural purposes, actually has considerable gas deposits. Therefore, the defendants planned to make money by depleting Ukrainian subsoil," the bureau noted.

Recently it became known that the ARMA cannot sell one of Viktor Medvedchuk's most expensive seized assets, the Royal Romance yacht, because a court in Croatia has canceled the seizure of this property. The Prosecutor General's Office noted that throughout the entire period of seizure, efforts were made to develop mechanisms that would allow ARMA to sell the property located abroad. However, the new ARMA leadership allowed delays in this process and started the procedure for the sale of the yacht only on March 20, 2024, almost 2 years after the arrest.
