Starting today, December 20, at 6 a.m., all checkpoints have seen an increase in passenger traffic leaving Ukraine. The State Border Guard Service advised to use the Transcarpathian section and the Slovak border to cross the border. This was announced by Colonel Igor Matviychuk, Head of the Border Control Department of the Western Regional Directorate of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, at a press conference, UNN reports.
Regarding the state of queues or accumulations in front of checkpoints. Today, since 6 a.m., we have been observing an increase in passenger traffic leaving Ukraine and there are actually queues at all checkpoints, except for the Smilnytsia checkpoint on the Polish section
According to him, queues are observed in front of two checkpoints on the Slovak section - Maly Berezny and Uzhhorod, as well as all Hungarian checkpoints. In addition, there are queues at the Romanian checkpoint Porubne. At the same time, the checkpoints with Moldova are free of queues.
"They are small, but they are there. From 5 to 20 cars," Matviychuk added.
He noted that there is a queue to enter Ukraine only at the Schengen checkpoint.
"Traditionally, the biggest load will be on the Polish section of the border. It accounts for up to 65% of travelers. Traditionally, these are Krakivets, Rava-Ruska, Hrushev, Shehyni. Somewhat less - Uhryniv, Ustyluh. And the lowest number is in Smilnytsia. So my advice is to choose with this sequence. Only in the opposite direction. And even better - Transcarpathian areas, the Slovak border," Matviychuk said.
