The FSB detained four Russians for preparing terrorist attacks against high-ranking Russian military officers and their families. The suspects are accused of high treason and preparing explosions.

The Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation claims to have prevented a series of terrorist attacks targeting high-ranking military officers of the Russian Defense Ministry and their families. According to the special service, the attacks were allegedly prepared by Ukrainian special services and recruited Russian citizens. This was reported by the Russian media, UNN reports.

Details

Four Russians were detained, who, according to the FSB, were preparing terrorist attacks against the military personnel of the Ministry of Defense and their families.

- One of the suspects allegedly arrived in Moscow under the guise of a deported person, took explosives and a video surveillance system from a cache. The plan was to disguise the bomb as a power bank and install it under the official car of a high-ranking officer.

- Another detainee, according to the FSB, was reconnoitering the places of residence and work of military personnel, passing photos and videos to curators to prepare attacks.

- The two detainees were reportedly supposed to deliver an improvised explosive device disguised as a folder with documents to a military officer.

All four were charged with illegal trafficking in explosives, preparation for a terrorist attack and high treason.

Recall

On the morning of December 17, Igor Kirillov, the head of the radiation, chemical and biological defense troops of the Russian armed forces, died in an explosion in Moscow.  The explosion occurred after the detonation of an explosive device.

Sources of UNN reported that the elimination of the head of the Russian Radiation and Chemical Defense Troops was the work of the SBU.

The SBU had served Kirillov with a suspicion a day earlier. It is alleged that he is responsible for the use of chemical weapons against the Ukrainian Armed Forces. On his orders, more than 4.8 thousand cases of the use of chemical munitions at the front were recorded.
