On Friday, April 24, Russian occupation forces attacked the city of Balakliia, Kharkiv Oblast. According to preliminary data, they used Geran attack UAVs (also known as Shahed - ed.), killing two people and injuring two others. This was reported by UNN with reference to the Kharkiv Oblast Prosecutor's Office.

As a result of the attack, apartment buildings, private residential buildings, cars, a lyceum, etc., were damaged. In one of the houses, a woman died due to a fire caused by a UAV strike.
A man died in a car near the impact site. Two utility workers, a man and a woman, also sustained injuries.
A pre-trial investigation has been launched into the strikes on the grounds of a war crime that caused human casualties (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). The sanction of the article provides for imprisonment from ten to fifteen years or life imprisonment.
