As a result of a massive missile and drone attack by the Russian Federation, power facilities in several regions were damaged, and the blackout schedules have been tightened - currently three stages are being used simultaneously in all regions, the bad weather left 198 settlements in 5 regions without electricity, according to Ukrenergo, UNN reports.
Consequences of enemy shelling
"At night and in the morning, the enemy carried out another massive missile and drone attack on the power system, the twelfth since the beginning of the year. Power facilities in several regions were damaged. As a result, the volume of consumption restriction measures, namely the number of queues in the schedule of hourly outages, was forced to be increased compared to the previous forecast for the current day," Ukrenergo noted.
Reportedly, emergency repair work at the damaged facilities "began immediately after the air raid alert was canceled." The energy sector is doing everything possible to eliminate the consequences of the Russian strikes as soon as possible, the NPC emphasized.
Consumption
Consumption remains at a consistently high level. Today, on December 13, as of 6:00 a.m., its level was the same as at this time the previous day - on Thursday.
Yesterday, on December 12, the daily maximum consumption was recorded in the evening - 1% higher than the previous day's maximum on Wednesday, December 11.
"The Ukrainian power system is still recovering from twelve massive Russian attacks since the beginning of this year, and there is a significant power shortage. As a result, hourly power outages for household consumers and power limitation schedules for industry and business are being forced," the company said.
Currently, three stages of the hourly outage schedule are applied simultaneously in all regions
At the same time, they noted that the situation in the power system is changing, and accordingly, changes in the application of restrictive measures are possible.
Consequences of bad weather
As of this morning, 198 settlements in five oblasts - Kyiv, Chernihiv, Sumy, Cherkasy and Kirovohrad - were without power as a result of severe weather conditions (ice and strong winds). Emergency repair works in all these regions are ongoing.
