Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has lifted obligations for foreign companies to pay for Russian gas only through Gazprombank amid US sanctions. This is reported by Radio Liberty, writes UNN.
Details
It is noted that the Russian Federation updated the decree of March 2022 on a special procedure for paying for gas by foreign companies. It is indicated that the new rule will remain in force until the sanctions are lifted from Gazprombank.
From now on, foreign buyers have a new payment option for Russian gas - "crediting funds in rubles from" third parties "by an authorized bank. At the same time, there is a counterclaim - a form of non-cash mutual settlements or repayment of equal amounts of mutual payment obligations.
recall
Banks in the UK, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, Hungary and Thailand are reducing cooperation with Russia after new US sanctions. Banks stop servicing Gazprombank's UnionPay cards.
