The European Commission is expected to propose a negotiation framework for Ukraine's accession, but an agreement to start formal negotiations is unlikely before the June 2024 European Parliament elections, Politico reports, according to UNN.

For Ukraine and Moldova, the EU is going to take another step in the enlargement process.
"On Tuesday, the European Commission will propose the so-called negotiation framework, which sets out the guidelines and basic principles of accession negotiations. These texts will then be discussed by EU countries. Diplomats and EU officials warn that an agreement between the 27 European capitals, which is needed to officially start negotiations, is unlikely before the June European Parliament elections," the newspaper writes.
For some EU countries, including Austria, it was noted to be vital that progress on Ukraine and Moldova go hand in hand with progress on Bosnia and Herzegovina's future accession. The European Commission is expected to announce on Tuesday that Bosnia should start accession talks with the EU.
