Polish President Andrzej Duda is pleased with the decision of the Sejm to reject the bill on partial decriminalization of abortion, calling it reasonable. This was reported by Wprost, UNN.

During the parliamentary vote on the amendment to the Criminal Code, which provided for the decriminalization of abortion assistance, 215 MPs voted in favor of it, while 218 voted against it, and two abstained.
As a result, the amendment was rejected. Members of parliament from the Polish Peasant Party (PSL) voted against the initiative.
23 MPs did not participate in the vote, including three from the Civic Coalition: Roman Gertich, Krzysztof Grabchuk, and Waldemar Slawocki, although Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced his political group's support for the bill. Left-wing MPs have already announced their intention to put the bill back on the Sejm's agenda.
This is also a political decision, but in my opinion, given the current legislation, it is a reasonable decision, because if abortion is prohibited at all, and it is prohibited at all with a few exceptions, then these prohibitions must be authorized by law, and if there is no authorization, then the prohibition becomes illusory. This is the parliament, this is the Sejm. Sometimes the result of the vote is this, sometimes that. I am satisfied with the result of this vote. I think it is a reasonable result
