Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina was defeated at the 1/8 finals of the 2024 Olympics. The former world number one lost in three sets to Czech Barbora Krejcikova.
At the start of the Olympics, Svitolina defeated Japanese player Uchijima, and then defeated world number six Jessica Pegula. And the very next day, she was to play a match in the 1/8 finals.

Marta Kostiuk has won a strong-willed victory in the third round of the singles competition at the 2024 Olympic Games. The Ukrainian defeated world number eight Maria Saccari in three sets.
Ukraine's top-ranked player made her debut at the 2024 Olympic Games: she beat New Zealand's Lulu Sun at the start of the competition and defeated France's Clara Burel in the second round.
