The statements were made by high-ranking military officials, including Army Colonel Ri Un-ryong and Navy Captain Yoo Kyong-song, during a meeting on Saturday to mark the 71st anniversary of the Korean War armistice. They expressed a "flare-up of hatred" toward the United States and South Korea. Kim Jong-un himself attended the meeting.
