U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said that NATO seeks to create a bridge for Ukraine's membership, reports UNN.
In Brussels, Blinken told reporters that NATO is "intensely focused on the future.
After Sweden joined the meeting for the first time as a new member, Mr. Blinken said that the way forward for Ukraine is being discussed.
"We reaffirmed that Ukraine's future is in NATO (and) our goal now is to create a bridge to full membership for Ukraine by offering additional support and greater cooperation as Ukraine makes the reforms necessary to join the alliance," the US Secretary of State emphasized.
He praised Ukraine's successes in fighting the Russian Black Sea Fleet, but said more aid to Kyiv was essential.

He added that he wanted Ukraine to have an army that deterred aggression and was able to defend itself properly, and that discussions were ongoing on how to achieve this.
He added that NATO allies are in the process of finding new weapons for Kyiv.
