The audit of the activities of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine will be conducted only in the last months of its work, and not since its creation, so as not to recognize internal corruption, inefficiency and illegal actions of the NABU leadership. This was written by political expert Alexander Kochetkov, reports UNN.
"Since the 9 years of its existence, the NABU will be checked only in the last months of its work, so as not to recognize corruption, inefficiency and illegal actions of its leadership. Now we have another problem: the law on NABU clearly states: an external independent assessment (audit) of the effectiveness of this body's activities should be conducted annually. Do you know how many checks there were during its entire existence? Zero!"- wrote Kochetkov.
The expert recalled the periods for which NABU was not checked.
"NABU was not checked when at that time its head Sytnyk was officially recognized as a corrupt official and entered in the relevant state register of corrupt officials. NABU was not checked when its leadership was caught by the hand in leaking information to those suspected of embezzling millions of dollars. NABU has never reported its work to the public. And it is for you and me that these "anti-corruption fighters" feed. Every year, the NABU grossly violates the law on NABU by not allowing any state authority to conduct an audit. Every year. Violates it. The law, " Kochetkov said.
Finally, he noted, in September 2024, the Cabinet of ministers appointed a commission to conduct an external independent assessment. And only on November 18, this commission met – for the first time in more than 9 years of the Bureau's existence.
"Of course, everyone expected a comprehensive audit of NABU for all 9 years. However, the commission of foreigners decided to limit itself only to the period from the appointment of the current director of the Bureau (March 6, 2023) to the date of approval of the assessment methodology (November 18, 2024). Only 20 months instead of 108. all previous corruption scandals of the anti – corruption body decided to forget," the expert said.
He noted that Ukrainian human rights activists have already assessed such an "audit".
"This is an example of how foreigners ignore the law that they dragged through the Verkhovna Rada through their henchmen and try to hide and release from responsibility hundreds of NABU detectives who violated the law," Kochetkov quotes Rostislav Kravets, a well – known lawyer. According to the latter, the real goal of creating the NABU, SAPO, NAPC, VAKS, ARMA is not the fight against corruption, but attempts to destroy the independence and sovereignty of Ukraine.
The expert gave an example of Poland, how to help arbitrariness with complete disregard for the laws of Ukraine by NABU and its supervisors.
"There, the new coalition that won last year's elections provided for the liquidation of the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau in the agreement. The poles changed their minds about feeding corrupt officials who crumble as foreigners under the banner of "anti-corruption". Well done. Should Ukraine take this experience into account?",- summed up Kochetkov.
