An explosion was heard in Odesa amid an air raid alert in the region, according to the mayor of the city, Hennadiy Trukhanov, UNN reports.

"An explosion was heard in the city!" Trukhanov wrote on Telegram.
The authorities urged residents to stay in shelters.
"Odesa and Odesa district, please stay in shelters until the end of the day! It is important!" - Oleh Kiper, Head of Odesa RMA, emphasized in Telegram.
Prior to that, the Ukrainian Air Force warned of the threat of ballistic missile attacks from the south.
Trukhanov pointed to the "threat of ballistics from Crimea".
Odesa and a number of other regions are on air alert.
