Dozens of graves have been discovered in the Mexican state of Chiapas, on the border with Guatemala. As of now, more than 30 bodies have been found in the graves in Chiapas. It is noted that the violence in Chiapas coincided with the invasion of the New Generation Jalisco cartel into areas that were once the stronghold of the Sinaloa cartel, one of Mexico's largest drug trafficking organizations.

After the operation, dozens of unidentified graves were discovered in the Freilesca region of Chiapas, which are linked to the escalation of violence and organized crime in Mexico.

Initially, 14 clandestine graves were discovered, and later the number of bodies found in  mass graves in Chiapas increased to 31.

“The search is ongoing at La Concordia and Playas de Catazajá,” said state Attorney General Jorge Luis Llaveña Abarca at a press conference.

The violence in Chiapas coincided with the invasion of the Jalisco New Generation cartel into areas that were once strongholds of the Sinaloa cartel, one of Mexico's largest drug trafficking organizations.
