Following the drone incident in Latvia, the country's Defense Minister Andris Sprūds stated that there is a preliminary possibility that these were drones directed at targets in Russia from the Ukrainian side, LSM reports, according to UNN.

Latvian Defense Minister Andris Sprūds told Latvian television that he is heading to the Rēzekne municipality, where the drone incident occurred.
"The National Armed Forces are monitoring the airspace to the maximum extent together with NATO allies, and fighter jets are also in the air," Sprūds said.
"Russian aggression against Ukraine has consequences for the wider region, unfortunately, also for Latvia," Sprūds noted. He emphasized that Ukraine has every right to defend itself and to strike targets on Russian territory.
"Preliminarily, there is a possibility that these are drones that were directed at targets in Russia from the Ukrainian side. But this is only an assumption; the information still needs to be clarified," Sprūds stressed.
