Russia was attacked by drones on the night of June 18. Strikes were reported on the Moscow Oil Refinery and the city of Gukovo in the Rostov region. Footage has appeared online showing Ukrainian FP-1 drones over the Russian capital, which the "Pantsir" system unsuccessfully attempts to shoot down, UNN reports.
The Moscow Oil Refinery, located in the Kapotnya district 15 km from the Kremlin, has effectively become a "kill zone" for Ukrainian strike drones. Today's strike is not the first—on June 16, Ukrainian weapons already carried out strikes on this plant. However, today's strike appears to be on a larger scale.
Users posted the moment of the hit on the refinery. "OSINTers" identified the FP-1 (Fire Point) drone in the footage.
It is noted that Ukrainian drones move through the sky over Moscow quite freely—Russian air defense has proven incapable of fully countering them.
The refinery and a shopping center, over which a Ukrainian drone was eventually shot down, are on fire. Moscow is shrouded in black smoke.
The refinery processed about 11 million tons of oil per year, providing about 40% of Moscow's gasoline needs and 50% of its diesel. The exact consequences of the strikes are not yet known; however, the footage indicates that the plant suffered significant damage.
As a reminder
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine previously confirmed the strike on a "shadow fleet" tanker, logistics infrastructure between the temporarily occupied territories of southern Ukraine, and enemy command posts.
The military, using Ukrainian-made middle-strike UAVs, had previously struck key Crimean bridges near Chonhar and Armyansk. The strikes were carried out using FP-2 and "Behemoth" drones. The bridge connecting the Kherson region with Crimea in Chonhar was hit twice – on the night of June 6-7, as well as on the night of June 9.
On June 8, the bridge leading from Henichesk to the Arabat Spit came under attack.
Two more bridges over the North Crimean Canal—in the area of the settlements of Preobrazhenka and Myrne near Armyansk—were attacked on June 11.
In addition, on the night of June 13, the "Dzhankoy" checkpoint, a railway bridge, and a pontoon crossing were hit. In the videos of the strikes shown by the 1st Separate Assault Regiment named after Dmytro Kotsiubailo, instead of a traditional sight, there is a green heart, which is characteristic of strike drones produced by the Fire Point company.
