In the Zakarpattia region, a large-scale forest fire covering an area of over 65 hectares was liquidated after several days, the State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported on Friday, UNN writes.
The fire on the territory of the Verkhnio-Volovets forestry was liquidated at 06:00 on May 8. According to the results of the inspection, specialists from the Carpathian Forest Office established that the fire covered an area of 65.2 hectares. Currently, the situation is fully controlled
As indicated, rescuers and forestry workers remain on site to monitor the territory.
Meanwhile, in the Rivne region, according to the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service in the region, as of 8:00 PM on May 7, the final liquidation of another large-scale forest fire continued near the village of Bilsk.
"The fire is localized; the total area affected by fire in the territories of the Klesiv forestry, the Rivne Nature Reserve, and the 'Selyanskyi Lis' agricultural forestry cooperative is about 90 hectares. Smoldering of individual pockets is occurring. There is no threat to settlements. The situation is fully controlled by rescuers," the State Emergency Service reported.
