"Today in Port Louis, I was honored to be received by the Prime Minister of Mauritius, Mr. Pravind Kumar Jagnauth. This is the first visit of the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine to the Republic of Mauritius. Our countries highly value the protection of the fundamental principles of the UN Charter, such as the sovereignty and territorial integrity of nations, and I am grateful to Mauritius for its principled position of support for Ukraine in countering Russian aggression, as well as for the fact that the Republic of Mauritius joined the communiqué of the Peace Summit," Kuleba said.
According to Kuleba, the parties discussed how our two countries can strengthen cooperation in the areas of political dialogue, trade and investment, as well as strengthen relations between Ukraine and Africa.
"Given the high level of economic and business development in Mauritius, we welcome the significant interest in participating in Ukraine's recovery. In this context, we have agreed to start working on bilateral agreements on investment protection and avoidance of double taxation," Kuleba said.
