This morning, March 28, King Charles III of Great Britain spent some time in the hospital due to side effects from cancer treatment. However, on the same day, the monarch was seen on the streets of London, UNN reports with reference to Sky News.
Details
It is reported that the 76-year-old monarch waved to his supporters as he drove out of the royal residence of Clarence House in London in the morning. It is known that he was heading to his Highgrove estate in Gloucestershire.
This happened after he canceled his Friday engagements due to "temporary side effects" from cancer treatment. Buckingham Palace noted that after "planned and ongoing cancer treatment" on Thursday, the King "experienced temporary side effects that required a short period of observation in the hospital."
King Charles III's health condition
In February 2024, the King announced that he had been diagnosed with cancer and had begun treatment. In April of the same year, the monarch returned to performing state duties. In December, sources reported that his treatment continued into 2025 and was "moving in the right direction."
"A brief period of observation in the hospital on Thursday was described as 'a very minor bump in the road that is heading in the right direction,'" the Press Association reported, citing a source.
The King visited a London clinic on Thursday morning. The Queen did not join him during his short stay.
Recall
Last February, Charles III was diagnosed with an oncological disease, the exact nature of which is not disclosed. The disease was discovered during an examination that preceded an operation for an enlarged prostate. The palace emphasized that it was not prostate cancer, but no additional details were provided.
