Today, on July 5, the event dedicated to one of the most erotic inventions of modern fashion - World Bikini Day - is celebrated, UNN reports.

Frenchman Louis Rihar started out as the manager of a lingerie store owned by his mother. The job inspired Riar to become a fashion designer, and it was he who came up with the idea to design an open swimsuit that would revolutionize fashion.

Riar was also a good marketer. On July 1, 1946, the United States tested an atomic bomb on the Pacific atoll of Bikini. The fashion designer rightly believed that the swimsuit he developed would be a real "explosion" in the fashion world, and therefore named it the bikini and presented it to the general public on July 5, 1946.

The first woman to wear this open swimsuit was the Frenchwoman Michelle Bernardini.

The rapid growth in the popularity of bikinis in Europe was facilitated by the fact that movie stars, such as Brigitte Bardot and Avi Gardner, began wearing these swimsuits on the beaches.

In the US, the bikini became popular only in the 60s.

July 5 is also Workaholic's Day

The event aims to draw attention to the problem of workaholism, which is affecting an increasing number of adults.

Most people do not consider workaholism to be a dangerous addiction, and society even encourages people to work overtime. But scientists have proven that this addiction has a very negative impact on the state of the nervous and cardiovascular systems, leading to mental illness, early strokes, and heart attacks.

Some doctors put it on a par with alcoholism, which is very difficult to break out of on your own.

Today you can also join the celebration of the Mechanical Pencil Day.

It is believed that the first prototypes of mechanical pencils appeared in the sixteenth century. In the twentieth century, its design was improved and commercial production became widespread.

The mechanical pencil is a favorite tool among engineers, architects, artists, and students because of its precision, convenience, and ability to provide a consistent line width.

According to the church calendar, today is the Day of Remembrance of St. Athanasius of Athos, who lived in Byzantium in the tenth and eleventh centuries.

Athanasius received an excellent education, but at some point he decided to withdraw from secular life and took monastic vows.

It was Athanasius who founded the first monastery on Mount Athos. He also developed many rules for the life and behavior of monks.

Athanasius, Serhii, Stepan, Anna, and Yelyzaveta celebrate their name days today.
