russian troops deliberately launched a missile strike on Odesa when a Greek delegation headed by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in the city. This was stated by Mitsotakis in an interview with the Polish edition Rzeczpospolita of the Greek government, UNN reports.

Details

The Greek prime minister is convinced that this was a targeted intimidation campaign because of Athens' pro-Ukrainian stance.

At the same time, when asked whether the russian missile attack on Odesa, when the missiles fell at a distance of 500-800 meters from the Greek delegation, was a deliberate attack on the head of the government of an EU and NATO country, Mitsotakis noted that these are rather far-reaching conclusions.

But I don't think it (the shelling of Odesa - ed.) was an accident. It was an action of intimidation. But I said very clearly that we will not be intimidated

- emphasized Mitsotakis.

He assured that Greece's position would not change: Athens has been helping Kyiv and will continue to do so.

Addendum

At the same time, Mitsotakis emphasized that Athens is "not ready" to transfer F-16 fighters to Ukraine. He explained that the information about this that had previously appeared in the media was not true.

However, according to him, Athens continues to provide various kinds of military assistance to Ukraine, in particular, it has handed over "a significant number of 155 mm caliber shells" to Kyiv.

In addition, Greece is considering various possibilities of military assistance to Ukraine, taking into account that these supplies should not reduce the country's ability to deter a potential aggressor.

Recall

In March, President Zelenskiy claimed to have seen a russian strike on Odesa when he was in the city with Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

As CNN reported, a missile fired by russian Federation at Odesa on March 6 exploded 500 meters from the motorcade of Zelenskyy and the Greek prime minister.
