The final round of negotiations between Israel and Lebanon, mediated by the United States, has started in Rome and will last until Thursday. The parties are discussing the implementation of the Tripartite Agreement, the disarmament of Hezbollah, and the redeployment of Israeli forces.

The final round of negotiations between Israel and Lebanon, mediated by the United States, began on Tuesday in Rome and will last until Thursday. This was stated by US State Department spokesman Tommy Pigott, reports UNN citing The Guardian.

"These discussions bring together technical groups from both governments to advance the full implementation of the Trilateral Agreement, including the process of establishing a pilot zone, the verified disarmament of Hezbollah and other Iran-backed security threats, the redeployment of Israeli forces from southern Lebanon, and the creation of a framework for a comprehensive agreement," wrote Pigott in his post on X.

He added: "The United States remains committed to supporting the governments of both countries in advancing this process in a way that ensures lasting security for both nations, addresses security threats to Israel, and restores the Lebanese state's authority in the south of the country."
