Iran's Permanent Representative to the UN, Amir Saeid Iravani, stated that Tehran expects the negotiation process to resume after a change in Washington's position.
"As soon as Washington lifts the naval blockade, I think the next round of talks will take place in Islamabad."
The statement came after US President Donald Trump announced an extension of the ceasefire with Iran. At the same time, he emphasized that the US would continue to blockade Iranian ports until a final agreement was reached.
Thus, further negotiations remain dependent on a decision to lift the blockade, which is currently a key obstacle to the diplomatic process.
