In Mykolaiv, a man was detained for animal cruelty, the patrol police of the Mykolaiv region reported on Monday, UNN writes.

"We detained a man for suspected animal cruelty. The incident occurred yesterday on Pivdenna Street," the patrol police reported.
As noted, upon arriving at the scene, inspectors met with residents of the apartment building who reported that "their neighbor, in an unstable state, killed a stray dog and fled."
"After some time, police officers located a man matching the description. Since the man posed a threat to himself and others, the inspectors applied handcuffs as a special measure" in accordance with the law, the patrol police reported.
Currently, investigators have detained the man under Art. 208 (Detention by an authorized official) of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine and have initiated criminal proceedings on the grounds of a criminal offense provided for by Part 3 of Art. 299 (Cruel treatment of an animal committed with particular cruelty) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
