In Lviv, law enforcement officers and TCC (Territorial Recruitment Center) servicemen detained a man who took a 13-year-old girl hostage and threatened her with a knife. This was reported by the Lviv Region Police on Facebook, according to UNN.

The incident occurred on May 9 around 4:30 PM on Kavaleridze Street. According to the police, upon seeing the TCC servicemen, the man sprayed tear gas, then grabbed a child passing by and held a knife to her throat.
The police stated: "Thanks to a police officer and TCC servicemen, the hostage was released within minutes. The girl was not injured; there is no threat to her life or health."
Law enforcement identified the attacker as a 43-year-old resident of Lviv.
Attacker detained, criminal proceedings initiated
An investigative-operational group from Police Department No. 2 of the Lviv District Police Administration No. 2 worked at the scene. The man was detained in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine.
Following the incident, investigators opened criminal proceedings under Part 2 of Article 146 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – unlawful deprivation of liberty or kidnapping.
The sanction of the article provides for up to five years of restriction or deprivation of liberty. A pre-trial investigation is currently underway, and the issue of notifying the detainee of the charges is being resolved.
