In Kyiv, a man with a weapon threatened a 70-year-old security guard of a garage cooperative over a local dog; police have opened proceedings for hooliganism, UNN reports.

It was preliminary established that yesterday evening, a 52-year-old resident of a neighboring building approached the 70-year-old security guard of the garage cooperative with complaints regarding a local dog that had run to his house. 

In the heat of the conflict, the offender struck the elderly man and subsequently began threatening him with a weapon.

Based on this fact, the inquiry department of the Solomianskyi Police Department has initiated criminal proceedings under Part 1 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - hooliganism. 

Law enforcement officers seized a device for firing rubber bullets from the perpetrator. A pre-trial investigation is currently underway, and a notice of suspicion for committing a crime is being prepared for the offender.
