Mahmoud Qomati announced a refusal to stop attacks on northern Israel in exchange for the security of Beirut. The group promises a stronger response to any aggression.

"Hezbollah" will not agree to a "partial ceasefire" with Israel. This was stated on Tuesday by a high-ranking official of the Iran-backed group, refusing to stop attacks on northern Israel in exchange for Israel sparing the southern suburbs of Beirut, reports UNN with reference to the Guardian.

"We will not agree to a partial ceasefire," Mahmoud Qomati said in a written statement to AFP, adding that "the Zionist enemy must know that any aggression against the suburbs could lead to a deeper and stronger response" from the group.

As a reminder

On Monday, U.S. President Donald Trump announced a deal that, according to Lebanese officials, involves Israel refraining from attacks on Beirut's southern suburbs in exchange for Hezbollah not attacking Israeli territory.
