Germany hands over sixth IRIS-T system to Ukraine

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz confirmed the delivery of the sixth IRIS-T SLM system to Ukraine. Gepard SPAAG continues to be supplied along with ammunition, the production of which has been resumed.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has announced the delivery of another, the sixth IRIS-T SLM installation to Ukraine. UNN reports this with reference to the monitoring project of German Aid to Ukraine.

At a briefing after the European Council in Brussels, Chancellor Olaf Scholz announced that, to his knowledge, another IRIS-T SLM unit had been delivered to Ukraine.

“Another IRIS-T system is being delivered, I believe today, and the Gepard SPAAG, which we continue to deliver along with all the ammunition that we have resumed production of,” Scholz said.

During a briefing with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy  on December 2 , Scholz said that Germany would provide Ukraine with a sixth IRIS-T system and launchers for Patriot and Gepard. In 2025, it will also supply air defense systems.
