There were 124 combat engagements at the front yesterday, one-third of which took place in the Pokrovsk sector, five near Vovchansk in the Kharkiv sector, on the border with Chernihiv and Sumy regions, the enemy maintains a military presence, and actively used aviation from Russian territory, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported in a report as of 8 a.m. on August 12, UNN reports.

According to the updated information, yesterday the enemy launched five missile attacks on the positions of Ukrainian units and localities, using 18 missiles, 65 air strikes (including 107 combat aircraft), and fired 4673 times, 129 of them from multiple launch rocket systems.
Over the past day, the aviation, missile forces and artillery of the Defense Forces conducted nine strikes on areas where personnel and weapons and military equipment were concentrated, destroying two command posts, three artillery systems, an ammunition depot and three other important Russian targets.
The situation in the morning is as follows:
In the Kharkiv sector, the enemy continued assault operations. There were five combat engagements in the area of Vovchansk.
In the Kupyansk sector, the number of combat engagements amounted to ten enemy attacks. Defense forces repelled enemy assaults near Pishchane, Berestove and in the direction of Hlushkivka.
On the Lyman direction, our troops repelled 21 occupants' assault actions in the areas of Makiivka, Nevske, Novosadove and in the Serebryansky forest.
In the Siversk sector, Ukrainian Armed Forces repelled eight attacks near Ivano-Daryivka, Spirne, Verkhnekamianske and Vyymka.
In the Kramatorsk sector, Ukrainian troops stopped 11 enemy attempts to break through our defenses in the areas of Chasovyi Yar, Kalynivka and Ivanivske.
In the Toretsk sector, the enemy, supported by aviation, carried out eight attacks. He concentrated his efforts in the areas of Zalizne, Druzhba and New York.
On the Pokrovske direction, our defenders repelled 41 attacks. The enemy concentrated its main efforts in the areas of Vozdvyzhenka, Novooleksandrivka, Kalynove, Novohrodivka, Hrodivka, Zhelanne, Orlivka and Mykolaivka.
In the Kurakhove sector, the Defense Forces continue to hold back the enemy in the vicinity of Kostyantynivka. In total, the enemy tried to break through the defense of our troops in this area six times.
On the Vremivsky direction, the occupants made two attacks on our positions in the direction of Vodyane and Rivne. The enemy was not successful.
In the Orikhiv sector, four unsuccessful engagements took place near Mala Tokmachka and Novodanylivka.
In the Prydniprovsky sector, no losses of positions or territories were reported. Ukrainian troops successfully repelled eight attacks by Russian invaders.
No signs of enemy offensive groups formation were detected in the Volyn and Polissya sectors. The operational situation has not changed significantly.
The enemy maintains a military presence on the border with Chernihiv and Sumy regions, actively using aviation from the territory of the Russian Federation and shelling border settlements.
"Our soldiers continue to actively inflict significant losses in equipment and manpower on the occupation forces, depleting the enemy's offensive potential along the entire front line and in the rear," the General Staff emphasized.
