President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that during the G7 summit, he discussed additional sanctions against the Russian Federation with the leaders of the "Group of Seven" countries. Among the proposed measures are strengthening restrictions on the Russian "shadow fleet," as well as the banking and military sectors of the RF. This was reported by The Guardian, according to UNN.
According to the Head of State, the summit participants discussed further steps to increase economic pressure on Russia and limit its ability to finance the war against Ukraine.
We discussed with the G7 leaders some proposals for new sanctions against Russia, including its shadow fleet
The President also drew attention to the decline in global oil prices, which, in his opinion, negatively affects the revenues of the Russian economy.
We see that oil prices are falling, and this is good, as Russia will not receive additional profits
In addition, Zelenskyy noted that the Russian banking sector and enterprises of the military-industrial complex are being considered as areas for potential strengthening of sanction pressure.
