Leaders of the G7 countries demonstrated a unified position on the need to increase pressure on Russia and force the Kremlin to negotiate an end to the war. This was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy before the start of the European Council meeting, reports UNN.
According to the head of state, during the G7 summit, allies agreed on further steps regarding Russia.
"We had unanimity during the G7 on how to be stronger and how to push Putin toward dialogue, a ceasefire, and an end to this war," Zelenskyy said.
The President added that the issues of further pressure on Russia and achieving a just peace will remain among the main topics of negotiations with European leaders.
"I think we will discuss all these topics today," he concluded.
